| Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister |
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Saturday that the Congress would get less than five seats in Gujarat. Speaking at a media conclave organized by India Today in the national capital, the AAP boss downplayed his rival's prospects ahead of next month's elections and asked 'who takes Congress seriously'.
"People of Gujarat need change. If people don't want change, we don't get any place. We are getting 30 per cent vote share. We formed the government in Punjab. There is something different in Gujarat too." They said.
"Congress will win less than 5 seats in Gujarat. We are at number two," Kejriwal said.
He made a similar theatrical performance in an NDTV program where he refused to estimate BJP's numbers. "The rest of the predictions will be made another day."
Earlier today, a pre-poll survey by ABP News - C-Voter gave the ruling BJP another victory in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state.
Of the nearly 23,000 respondents, more than half said they planned to vote for the BJP. Twenty percent supported AAP and 17 percent supported Congress.
In a state where there is usually a BJP vs Congress battle, the suggestion that the AAP might replace the Congress as the primary opposition party has raised eyebrows.
Kejriwal's party on Friday announced former TV news anchor and social activist Isudan Gadhvi as its chief ministerial candidate, after a 'voting' of the public named Bhagwant Mann as the CM face in Punjab.
