Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated SEMICON India 2026, marking a pivotal transition from policy formulation to commercial production in the nation's domestic semiconductor ecosystem. A key highlight of the event was the strategic partnership between Tata Electronics and Netherlands-based Nexperia.
Under this collaboration, Nexperia's semiconductors will be manufactured at Tata’s upcoming fabrication facility in Dholera, Gujarat, while discrete products will be packaged at its assembly plant in Jagiroad, Assam. Part of a broader 16-MoU initiative by Tata Electronics, this tie-up strengthens local supply chains, boosts research, and positions India as a major global hub for chip production.
