On Jacqueline Fernandez's bail plea Delhi court defers til November 15

Jacqueline Fernandez

A Delhi court on Friday deferred till November 15 the order on the bail plea of actor Jacqueline Fernandez in the money laundering case involving alleged thug Sukesh Chandrashekhar. His interim bail, which was expiring today, has also been extended till Tuesday.

Special Judge Shailendra Malik, who had earlier granted interim bail to Fernandez, said the order was not ready.

The court had reserved for Friday its order on the actor's bail plea after hearing the arguments of lawyers appearing for Fernandez as well as the Enforcement Directorate.

The ED had submitted that Fernandez was a flight risk as he is not short of money. On this, the court questioned the agency as to why the actor has not been arrested yet.

The court had told the probe agency, "Why have you (ED) not arrested Jacqueline yet during the investigation despite issuance of LOC? Other accused are in jail. Why follow the policy of pick and choose."

The actress has sought bail on the ground that there is no need for her custody as the investigation has already been completed and charge sheet has been filed.

The court had on August 31 taken cognizance of a supplementary charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate in which the actor was named as an accused for the first time.
